What is a Humanitarian Disaster?

A humanitarian disaster arises when the damage from an event or multiple events burdens a country's economy, environment or citizens. These disasters leave those impacted in need of urgent care, relating to shelter, food, water, or health care. This form of disaster can occur for a multitude of reasons.
